LECTURE NOTES

 Week 1 ( 03/04/19) 

There was no lecture given this week as it was the first day of class. Instead we were briefed on the module and the projects that we had to start this week.

Week 2 (10/04/19) 

Lecture 1
In this class, we learned about the history of brand through a series of diagrams that explained it and also some logos of certain brands to have a better understanding of the subject at hand.

 Week 1 ( 03/04/19) 

In the first class, we were briefed on this project. We are required to create a presentation slide based on 3 questions which were based on brand, brand identity and branding. We were also required to have a case study on the brand, the duration for this project is one week. I chose Airbnb as my case study for this project.

FEEDBACK

General feedback: In the slides, it would be good to include more visuals to have a better visualisation as to how they represent the brand. We should also look at other aspects of the brand besides the logo such as product, website, social media and more.

Specific feedback: For my presentation, it was articulate and organised. The content presented was well sequenced and it was good that I chose Airbnb as it was something new and consumers rely on a lot these days. However, I should have included more advertising campaigns as they did have more.




REFLECTION

Experience
Through this project, I've learned more about the heart behind Airbnb and also had a better understanding of brand. It was interesting to research on their logo as I understood the heart behind the logo and how it embodies their brand story of "Belong Anywhere".  

Observation
I observed that I had a hard time finding information about Airbnb, I wish I could have a more detailed presentation however this was the best I could find.

Findings
 I found that I have a much better understanding on what brand, brand identity and branding is after this project and also while listening to other people's presentation. I also have a new found appreciation and respect for brands as it is not easy to come up with a brand identity that can attract people. I have also found my self to be more aware of brands now as I walk through the streets or malls.
