PROPOSAL

Week 1 (07/01/19)

Today was our first day of class thus we were briefed on all the projects and were given the module outline. We were also given the theme of the project which was "Living with Nature" which we had to come up with a topic to propose next Friday with the group that we were assigned to. My group members are Hue Chi and Jia Jin. We were also given a brief idea of what we need in our proposal such as objectives and methods for observation and data collection. This process is very important as we need to build our groundwork here before going to Korea to collect the data and it is important be prepared and know what should be done when we're there for a smooth workflow.

 Week 1 (08/01/19 - 10/01/19)

The next few days, we started by individually conducting our own research and coming up with some ideas. Then, we shared our ideas and findings with each other and compiled them into a set of slides.

Here is a PDF of the slides which includes a  draft of what we came up with so far.

 Week 1 (11/01/19)

During Friday's class, we had a consultation with the lecturers and shared with them what we've come up with so far.

Ms Jinchi also mentioned something important, and that is about the write-up to define and interpret the theme - Living With Nature. She informed us that before coming up with ideas and aspects of the culture of Korea, we should start by thinking about the theme, and how we want to interpret it. The concept and way we define this theme will then guide us to what we intend to do.

At this stage, my group did not come up with our own interpretation on the theme yet and jumped straight to the ideas. Therefore, we needed to think further on what we want the theme to mean and represent.

My group managed to show Ms Jinchi our interpretation on living with nature after what she told us which was a mutual relationship with nature.  She then advised us to look into symbols like hands shaking or any symbols that could represent unity.

Week 1 (12/01/19 - 13/01/19)

During the weekends, me and my group mates tried to come up with some new ideas as to how we would like to execute this concept.

 Week 2 (14/01/19-17/01/19)

This week we used our time to further discuss on our proposal, come up with our problem questions, objectives and the five preliminary ideas in preparation for the presentation on Friday. Ms Jinchi also posted on Google Classroom in which she clearly explained the outlines of what we're doing. This was really helpful as we were a little confused with what to do for the preliminary ideas.

 Week 2 (18/01/19)

Its presentation day, here are my final presentation slides.

Feedback : Mr Charles commented that it was good and also that our ideas were well planned out and wished us all the best on the data collection.
